ANDRA Release new rules for 2008

 


Rule Changes

Fuel Checking – Drain Facilities: Effective 1/9/2008, a new section, ACR 4.1.8, Fuel Checking Facilities will be inserted as follows; “All vehicles competing in Supercharged Outlaws, Super Stock, Competition, Competition Bike, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Top Doorslammer and Top Alcohol must be equipped with a drain valve located between the fuel tank and the carburettor(s) or fuel injector to facilitate removal of fuel samples for fuel checking purposes.

Street Bike – ANDRA Licence: Effective 1/9/2008, all riders in Street Bike classes will be required to hold a licence at the Unlimited level as a minimum.

 


Clarifications and Amendments

Competition Bike, Engine – Fuel Injection: The NCC clarified that EFI was not permitted in Competition Bike classes. A new clause will be added to ACR 3.11, Engine – “e) Induction: Any motorcycle carburettors or mechanical fuel injection permitted. Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) not permitted”.

Street Bike, Transmission – Gear Change: The NCC clarified that interruption of fuel supply to assist gear changes in Street Bike was permitted. From 1/9/2008, ACR 3.10.1, Drive Train, d) Transmission, would be amended to read “Air or electric gear change devices not permitted. Each individual shift must be controlled manually by the rider’s foot. Ignition/fuel interruption to facilitate gear change permitted.

Comment sought on Proposed Rules

ANDRA Racing Credentials – Civil Licence: Comment is sought on the proposal that civil licences be relevant to the type of vehicle being driven or ridden (car or motorcycle).

Super Twin Bike – Capacity: To accommodate a capacity increase in available engines, comment is sought on the proposal that ACR 3.10.2, Weightbreak, be amended to “6.04 lbs/cub, 148 cubic inch maximum”.

Helmets - General Regulations: A review of the current ANDRA helmet standards showed that a number were superseded or had been discontinued. Comment is sought on the proposal that ANDRA implement a 12 year standards related helmet age limit from 1/9/2008, based on the comparison of current and proposed standards.
